How these results work
Type a location and we fetch the real restaurants nearby (OpenStreetMap data via Geoapify) — up to a hundred, nearest first.
Every pick is evidence: cuisine and plan picks boost matching places; Must-haves filter by default (soften them if the list gets thin — community data is incomplete); Not-tonight picks hide matches with the reason shown.
Occasion chips are honest heuristics over the same data: date night and celebrations lean on reservation-taking rooms, quick bite on counter service, family on kid-staple kitchens.
Distance shows as an approximate driving range — straight-line distance scaled by how spread out the area is. "Open at my time" trusts listed hours only when they give a definite answer.
Ratings and prices aren’t in this data source; the look-up links go to the live web for those.
Restaurant facts come from OpenStreetMap community data: cuisine and location are usually solid; hours, diet, and accessibility tags are incomplete — a missing tag never hides a place, and "closed" only means its listed hours say so. Verify hours before you drive. Ratings and prices aren’t in this data; use the links to check reviews.
Your location text is used to search for nearby places and isn’t stored server-side. Answers are saved to your account only if you sign in; otherwise they stay on this device. Share links carry your inputs in the URL itself.
Community map data, not a guarantee — check hours and menus before you drive. Share links carry your inputs in the URL itself.
